In The IHeartMedia Bankruptcy, Expect A Major Selloff Of Radio Stations

Expect to see a dramatic shedding of radio stations, likely hundreds, many at rock-bottom prices. Never mind statements put out by the company that stations will not be sold off. That’s intended to quell fears among employees and stem any flood of talent. FORBES

Do you where I can find a Kleenex to dry my tears? 😉

Your sarcasm is coming through loud and clear. Where is your love for the behemoth corporate entity we once knew and loved as Clear Channel?? A rose by any other name would not smell as sweet. I myself am humbled before any radio blaring the sounds of the iHeart stations. Long may they serve the local community of Tacoma from the studios located in Seattle.

Sarcasm? Me? No, I cry at weddings, funerals and in some cases, elections.

One can only wish that they will sell/spin off stations in Market 51 and below. Be great to see a new owner of the iHeart Spokane cluster. One can only wish and only time will tell……

Spokane local owner would be a Tom Read or Icicle Broadcasting possibly. Not bad.

Or perhaps Alpha. You do NOT want Tom Read to own your station….it’ll turn irn into paid religion, a few old time radio shows and info-mercials. Icicle would be ok for ownership…….love to see iHeart say bye bye Spokane. They’ve been here too long, and screwed the airwaves up.

We certainly don’t want infomercials, although they are the main support of KOMO/KIRO on weekends. Car dealers, grocery stores and appliance stores apparently won’t buy radio anymore. Alpha is a likely buyer, but I don’t see them as a Mom & Pop operation any longer.
